Description
A classic sausage egg and cheese sandwich made with a buttery toasted Kaiser roll, savory sausage patty, fluffy scrambled eggs, and melty American cheese. Perfect for a quick, hearty breakfast.
Ingredients
1 Kaiser roll
1 tablespoon butter (cultured, salted)
¼ pound pork breakfast sausage (loose)
2 large eggs
⅛ teaspoon salt
⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper
2 slices American cheese
Optional: ketchup or hot sauce
Instructions
1. Split and butter the Kaiser roll, then toast cut-side down until golden.
2. Shape sausage into a patty; cook in skillet over medium heat until fully cooked and browned.
3. Beat eggs with salt and pepper; scramble in pan until just set.
4. Add cheese on top of eggs, cover pan briefly to melt.
5. Layer sausage on bottom bun, top with cheesy eggs, then close sandwich.
6. Optional: wrap sandwich in deli or parchment paper and foil, rest 5 minutes before serving.
7. Cut in half and serve immediately.
