Description
These foolproof chocolate covered strawberries are smooth, glossy, and ready in minutes. They set fast and look store-bought—but they’re made with just 3 ingredients in your own kitchen.
Ingredients
1 pint fresh strawberries, cold and dry
1/2 cup chocolate chips (dark, milk, white, or semi-sweet)
1/2 to 1 tsp Crisco or coconut oil
Optional: sprinkles, chopped nuts, shredded coconut, extra melted chocolate for drizzling
Instructions
1. Rinse strawberries and pat them completely dry. Keep them chilled in the fridge until ready to dip.
2. In a microwave-safe bowl, add chocolate chips and Crisco or coconut oil. Microwave for 40 seconds.
3. Stir well. If not fully melted, microwave in 5–10 second intervals, stirring each time.
4. Stop microwaving when about 80% melted. Stir until smooth.
5. Hold each strawberry by the green top and dip into melted chocolate, turning slightly as you lift.
6. Let excess chocolate drip off. Place berries on wax paper–lined cookie sheet.
7. If using toppings, sprinkle them on immediately after dipping.
8. Let set at room temp or refrigerate briefly to speed up hardening.
Notes
Make sure the strawberries are completely dry—water makes the chocolate seize.
Use cold strawberries for quicker setting and better chocolate grip.
Don’t stack strawberries when storing; keep in a single layer.
To store, refrigerate uncovered for up to 24 hours.
